Poinsettia Bouquet Blanket (Free Video Tutorial)

The Poinsettia Bouquet Blanket is a crocheted circle blanket with a border of vines, leaves, and poinsettias. This customizable blanket pattern is perfect to make the most gorgeous blanket that rolls into a bouquet of poinsettias! You can customize the size, use any yarn weight (4-7), and make blankets for multiple purposes: a baby shower gift, a throw blanket for your couch, or a cute bedspread to give your bedroom an extra layer of warmth and a floral touch. You can make it anywhere from drapey with thin yarn, or thick and cozy with jumbo yarn!

How This Pattern Works


The PDF pattern has been graded for 5 common blanket sizes with recommended gauges and also includes a spreadsheet calculator that enables you to work with any weight yarn and gauge for the base of the blanket. The spreadsheet will estimate your yarn amount for your desired size and the number of flowers/leaves you’ll have in your final row. If you would like to skip the spreadsheet, you may work with the pattern as is using the recommended gauges.

Poinsettia Bouquet Blanket Video Tutorial

Summary: This video tutorial specifically covers the blanket border, in other words, how I create the vine/leaves portion in weight 7/jumbo yarn and how I add poinsettia flowers in weight 6/super bulky yarn.

Backstory: Upon request of my Instagram followers, I’ve edited video footage to provide guidance for the jumbo/weight 7 Poinsettia Bouquet Blanket (it should also help with other yarn weights as well). I filmed this back in December 2023 when I was practicing filming video tutorials and did not have a good filming set up. I remember that this was a little chaotic; I came back home from work at 4pm for the sun to set by 5:30pm and did not have an indoor table with good lighting or an overhead camera rig. I admit that this is not my best video tutorial, but I hope that it helps some of you who might be struggling <3
